Hey all! 29 year old hobbyist game developer here! I've actually been messing around with this stuff for quite a bit of time (almost 10 years) but have only very recently discovered itch.io and begun feeling comfortable sharing some small prototypes. Hoping to enter a jam soon and see what that's all about, seems like a blast!
I started with Unity back when it was free. Played with Unreal for a minute too, but found Godot a couple years ago. I've found no reason to go back and pay for the others.
I'm kind of a one-man show. I'm about a year from completing a bachelors in Computer Science, and consider myself a fairly strong coder (although I've rarely shared my work outside of school, I've made dozens of prototypes in Godot alone). Have a fair bit of professional CAD modeling experience too, so it's actually quicker and easier for me to whip up a model in Blender and add shaders than to try 2D art. I can make a decent UI, but even pixel art is beyond me. Finally, music composition has kind of been a casual study throughout my whole life. My dad's a damn good guitarist, and showed me a thing or two when I was younger. I mostly work in FL Studio now, using the Serum synthesizer for sound design (but I'll jam the piano with my own son every now and then too).
